MGTOW
An acronym that could have meant self-improvement, but became voluntary male isolation — the most expensive cage that exists.

An acronym that could have been interpreted as something motivational — pushing men to become better versions of themselves — but it backfired completely. I believe whoever created this acronym had good intentions, but in practice it only reinforces the male tendency to retreat into fantasy and sexual isolation, further depriving men of meaningful interactions with high-value women.
It's an acronym that could be classified as a mental illness, because that's what it produces in practice. It's roughly like when, in the '90s, medicine said "you can live a normal life with HIV." Although completely misleading, that statement had a motivational intent — but the general population and subsequent generations interpreted it as "I can have unprotected sex with whoever I want." Which obviously led to an even sharper spike in the epidemic (silently, thanks to newer medications) and the return of several STIs that were nearly eradicated.
Human beings have this habit of crossing the line from mastery into psychopathy. Getting a tattoo can be great. Covering your entire body, definitely not. MGTOW could have meant "outgrow yourself." It became "isolate yourself." And voluntary male isolation, declared with pride, is the peak of an inferiority complex — not the overcoming of one. Proudly declared solitude isn't freedom. It's the most expensive cage that exists, because you paid for it yourself and still think it's a penthouse.
MGTOW is a psychiatric case.
